Esports is competitive video gaming. Games like Madden (football), Fifa (soccer), and NBA2K (basketball) are some of the titles featured in professional leagues and at the collegiate level. They create a natural team vs team and/or one on one competition. There are also other genres, such as First Person Shooters (FPS), Fighting games (FGC), and Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA). Some of the titles Virtual Reload offers include: Call of Duty, Overwatch, Fortnite, Tekken, CS:GO, League of Legends, and DoTA.
Players can participate in tournaments where entrants pay into a prize pool and the winner takes home the prize. In a recently announced Fortnite World Cup, the top prize was valued at up to $3 million!
A single First Place finisher won over $3,000,000 from one tournament, with additional prizes for other finalists.
Many accredited schools and universities, including Erskine College, participate in esports and offer scholarships.
Virtual Reload prepares and trains players as young as 13 years of age to compete at various levels.
